Salem.
After arriving in Houston last night and catching up with my parents over a glass of wine, I finally convinced them both to sit down and watch Hocus Pocus with me. (It's October, after all.) As cheesy as this movie is, I'm pretty sure it's one of my all-time favorites. I just love the film's horrific '90s fashions, hilarious Halloween humor, and beautiful autumn-esque shots. With a plot that revolves around three resurrected witches, it only makes sense that it would take place in Salem, Massachusetts, the so-called Halloween capital of the world.
Which got me to thinking—why on Earth haven't I been there? I seriously don't think I'd feel more at home than in a place where they celebrate my favorite holiday practically all year round. Talk about Halloween Heaven! Not to mention, Salem actually has four seasons instead of two. As much as I talk about loving autumn, I don't think I've ever even witnessed a real one. (Thank you, Texas.)
Yep, I'm sold. Salem is next on my list of cities to visit in the United States! What about you? Would you ever be interested in exploring this bewitching city?
