An impromptu concoction.
After an extremely long twelve hours (9:30am-9:30pm), I came home yesterday to a whole list of assignments that I had yet to complete for class today. Not only was I tired, but I was also starving! (A four o'clock dinner was not a smart idea). So naturally, I put my books down and sauntered over to the fridge, hoping that I would be able to find something healthy and delicious to satisfy my late-night appetite. Peanut butter, fruit, yogurt... The same ol' stuff. Kind of boring, yes?
Enter Mr. Blender. As you can probably infer from my previous statement, I ended up combining a bunch of those boring-by-themselves-foods and creating (what I believe to be) the ultimate smoothie.
The recipe, roughly:
6 oz. nonfat plain greek yogurt*
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup ice cubes
1 packet hot cocoa mix
1 tbsp. creamy peanut butter
1 frozen banana
1 cup chilled coffee (for those of you who need an energy boost)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
*Fage yogurt is my personal favorite.
If I'm being honest, this might've even been the best homemade smoothie I've ever had. Try it and let me know what you think!
